It’s one of the two primary airports that serve the Greater Tokyo Area and is the primary base of Japan’s two major domestic airlines, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways. It’s located in Ota, Tokyo, 15 kilometers south of Tokyo Station. As of 2020, Haneda was rated by Skytrax as the 2nd Best Airport after Singapore’s Changi Airport and is the World’s Cleanest and Best Domestic Airport.

Mikasa City Museum / 三笠市博物館
Mikasa City is surrounded by beautiful nature and rich geological materials including coals and fossils. The Mikasa City Museum was established in July 1979 to preserve and exhibit the nature, culture, and industry of the city.

This park has fantastic views of the mountains set against the rolling hills. Also, it is a popular place for watching sunsets. Red roof Huts, which is often used for TV drama and commercial, is also been seen from this park.
The panoramic flower gardens of Shikisai-no-oka provide spectacular views across fifteen hectares of land on Oka-no-machi Biei.
It is a paradise of seasonal blossoms from spring through to fall, in which several dozen different species of flowers and grasses flourish. Why not come and enjoy the beautiful fragrance of the blossoms amid spectacular panoramic scenery?
This pond was made by accident, as the by-product of attempts to control mudslides. Aluminum that has seeped into the water scatters the sunlight, causing the pond to look blue.
Many friendly animals are waiting for you, including ponies, jersey cows, sheep, goats, rabbits, and llamas. It is open all year round, free of charge, and you can try feeding the animals. There are also various hands-on programs such as horse riding and cow milking where you can directly touch the animals.
This hill farm is located on the border of Kamifurano Town and Biei Town on Route 237. In addition to lavender, several dozen kinds of flowers are grown here. Admission is free and anyone can stroll around.
Located atop a small hill, the lavender garden is filled with bright purple and refreshing scents from late June to early August. From the observation deck, you can see the lavender fields to the west and the Tokachi mountain range to the east. Most of the lavenders are the late blooming Okamurasaki variety, so you can enjoy the magnificent view even if you are a little late in the season.
It’s a beautiful, lush green waterfall surrounded by trees with a total drop of 25 meters, a distance of 8 minutes by car from the popular spot “Blue Pond” in Biei-cho. Even in summer, the cold water flows abundantly, and there is a group of stone Buddhas of Shikoku’s eighty-eight places.
It’s in Biei Shirogane Onsen areas, only 3 minutes walk from the bus stop of Dohoku-bus, this power spot extends across both sides of Blue River Bridge. Throughout the year, from the lush green period of summer to the white snow-covered winter.
The precious Torinuma Spring Park is surrounded by various kinds of trees, plants, insects, birds, and fish. Free boat rides available. You simply take the boat from where the previous guest left it and can row your way around the crystal clear lake.
Onneto Lake is a part of Akan National Park in Ashoro. “Onneto” means old pond or big pond in the aboriginal Ainu language. Along with Okotanpe Lake and Shinonome Lake, the lake is considered one of the three major mystery lakes in Hokkaido.
This waterfall has been designated as a national natural monument. It is also famous as a hot spring waterfall, and is the only place in the world where the Manganese oxide formation phenomenon can be seen on earth.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of Kawayu Hotel Plaza in 1941 under the name of Kinki-so, the hotel name was changed to “Oyado Kinkiyu” in order to pledge the origin of the founding, “I want you to play in the hot water to your heart’s content”.
In the Ainu language, Mount Iou means “naked mountain”. The yellow sulfur crystals can be seen here, and the fumes are rising vigorously. In the past, this mountain prospered from sulfur mining, which led to the construction of the railroad here and supported the development of Kawayu hot spring.
Kussharo means the outlet of a lake or swamp in the Ainu language. It is the largest caldera lake in Japan, located in the Kussharo Caldera, one of the largest caldera lakes in the world. As the lake was created by volcanic activity, many hot springs are gushing out along the shores of the lake.
The pond is located deep in the mountains where underground water from Lake Mashu gushes out. The pond is called the “God’s Son” pond since It’s made from the subterranean water of Lake Mashu, meaning “Lake of God” in the Ainu language.
As you head towards Lake Mashu from the Teshikaga side, the first place you will see is the Mashu First Observatory. It is also the entrance to climbing Mountain.
The scenery of Lake Kussharo is amazing even if you only see it from the window of your car or inn. However, if you take one more step into nature, you will experience the true splendor of the lake.

It’s a beautiful crater lake in Akan Mashu National Park. It is home to marimo, a rare algae species that forms itself into beautiful green balls. Left alone for a few centuries, Lake Akan’s marimo can reach the size of soccer balls.
The exhibits contain a number of reproduced flora and fauna from the wetlands, including the huge Sakhalin taimen found in the Kushiro Shitsugen Zone. The third-floor observatory and rooftop observation deck provide panoramic vistas of the wetlands.
